Text Box: Ask Dr. Beader: Q.  I use Japanese seed beads and still have to sort through them because there are some that are irregular.  Why? A.  Nature is not flawless, so why should we expect manmade things to be?  There is nothing manufactured that is 100% perfect.  Although Japanese seed beads are considered the highest quality of the seed bead world, you still may find about 5-10% that are irregular.  Culling or sorting is a standard practice if you want to find the ideal beads for your projects. We’ve Got A Winner

The winning name for the “Name That Doll” contest is Rafiki submitted by Pat Herron.  

The name comes from the old and wise monkey of the Lion King who is the spiritual counsel to Simba and sometimes says some very silly things.  His name means "my friend" in Swahili.
